Europas. Nirgends linden sich so seltne und köstliche Marmor-
arten, so leicht zugänglich und in solcher Nähe des Meeres, dass
sie sicher eingeschiift und nach allen Ländern, wo man sie braucht,
verschickt werden können. 347) Fast alle Arten von Metallen besitzt
Spanien in grosser Menge. Seine Silber- und Quecksilber-Minen
sind berühmt, es hat Ueberflnss an Kupfer 348) und kann unerhört
viel Blei liefern. 349) Eisen und Kohle, die nützlichsten Produkte
der unorganischen Welt ßöo) sind ebenfalls in diesem höchst ge-
segneten Lande reichlich vorhanden. Eisen soll sich in allen
Theilen von Spanien finden und von vorzüglichster Güte sein; 351)
die Kohlenminen von Asturien werden als unerschöpflich beschrie-
benßß?) Kurz, die Natur ist in ihrer Güte so verschwenderisch
gewesen, dass man die Bemerkung gemacht hat, und so ist kaum
